During the last decade, the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve became famous for its tiger sightings. This attracted wildlife photographers from all over the world who wanted to shoot wild tigers in their prime habitat. This gave the tigers of Bandhavgarh much needed publicity. Of all the tigers of Bandhavgarh, Sita and Charger were the most famous. They were constant mates who successfully produced three litters. I remember Charger coming in, from outside, to the tourism zone of Bandhavgarh in 1991, when his predecessor Barka was getting old. At that time Barka was about 12-13 years old and reigned supreme in the tourist zone. It was estimated that Charger was approximately six years of age then. »»
