THE SRISHTI GREEN CUBE AWARDS - 2007

The SRISHTI GREEN CUBE AWARDS are Annual Awards for Good Green Governance

For going that extra step beyond required compliance.

The awards are positioned as ‘Thank you notes’ from our society at large and to present the winners as examples for their peers to follow.

The 2nd GREEN CUBE AWARDS are scheduled to be presented in Delhi in April 2008.

Applications are being invited from corporate entities in the following categories of business:

---- Manufacturing
---- Service
---- Infrastructure & Utilities
---- Education
---- Tourism & Hospitality
---- Municipalities

There will be two slabs in each category, for different scales of operation, based on turnover or closest equivalent term to define scale of operation.

Additionally, there will be Special Awards in the categories of:

---- NGOs in the field of Environment
---- Environmental journalism
---- Research project on Pollution Control
---- Research project of Alternative Energy Resources

Evaluation and judging of entries will be done by a panel of individuals who are either professionals in the field or have a demonstrated passion for the cause of our environment. Scores allotted by individual jurors will be collated by auditors and winners will be announced only at the venue of the Awards.

Tentative programme of the GREEN CUBE AWARDS 2007 will include:

---- Keynote address by Mr Kamal Nath, Hon’ble Minister for Commerce and Industry.
---- A talk by an eminent technocrat/consultant/scientist/academician in the field of
---- environment-related technology and/or sustainability issues.
---- Distribution of awards by leaders of individual categories of business.
---- Light entertainment, along with cocktails and intermingling by guests.
---- Dinner.

The GREEN CUBE AWARDS 2006 Ceremony is envisaged as a businesslike event with the minimum of ostentatious display and distractions, with the focus being the cause-related achievements of corporate and other entities and the examples they set for their peers.

Follow-up: The Awards ceremony and winners will be announced on TV and in print, accompanied by interviews of winners where feasible.
